    Sherpard fairey arrested...

BOSTON - A street artist famous for his red, white and blue “Hope” posters of President Obama has been arrested on warrants accusing him of tagging property with graffiti, police said Saturday.

Shepard Fairey was arrested Friday night on his way to the Institute of Contemporary Art for a kickoff event for his first solo exhibition, called “Supply and Demand.”

Two warrants were issued for Fairey on Jan. 24 after police determined he’d tagged property in two locations with graffiti based on the Andre the Giant street art campaign from his early career, Officer James Kenneally said. One of the locations was the railroad trestle by the landmark Boston University bridge over the Charles River, police said.

    NBA news and rumors 2/7

The Lakers have traded Vladimir Radmanovic to Charlotte for Adam Morrison and Shannon Brown. The Lakers get out from under Radmanovic’s long-term contract, which could help them manage future payroll and possibly more likely retain Lamar Odom (and Trevor Ariza, who will be the top offseason priority). Orange County Register

The latest rumblings out of Clipperland suggest that rookie Eric Gordon and center Marcus Camby are the only two players L.A. refuses to trade, which is another way of saying that the Baron Davis trade speculation isn't about to go away, no matter how unlikely it is in this economy for a deal to materialize before the deadline that forces Davis to leave his hometown. This is the first season of a five-year, $65 million deal for Davis, with his under-fire boss (Mike Dunleavy) believed to be equally insulated from relocation with more than $10 million owed him over the next two seasons as coach/GM. ESPN.com

Steve Nash on the possibility of reuniting with D'Antoni in New York or going home to Canada with Toronto as a 2010 free agent: "Like I always say, my first priority is finishing my career here in Phoenix. If it came to the point that they break up our team or it's time to look elsewhere, obviously there would be worse places to go than Toronto or New York. "I have connections to both places, on and off the floor" Whether he'll consider the Suns' offer to sign an extension this summer to keep him from reaching free agency: "All I can say right now is that I look forward to that conversation." ESPN.com

Abe Pollin, the owner of the NBA Washington Wizards, has offered Obama the use of his team’s home court, the Verizon Center, nine blocks east of the White House. Obama’s pickup games probably would fill more of the center’s 20,000 seats than the Wizards do, who are vying this season only to be the worst of the NBA’s 30 teams. Boston Herald

ources told ESPN.com that the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons and Portland Trail Blazers are among the many teams with whom Phoenix has exchanged trade concepts, with the Bulls and Heat believed to be pursuing Stoudemire hardest at this early stage. Almost every team in the league has some degree of interest in Stoudemire, but sources close to the process maintain that the Suns will only part with the 26-year-old in a deal that delivers at least one decent-sized expiring contract along with younger talent and/or draft considerations. good luck buying gloves kid...

so Kamani Hubbard from California, was born with 12 fully developed fingers and toes. chemical x much?

Wow, watch out for them crazy bitches. Woman carved her name into guy's arm after one night stand

Think twice about that girl you plan on bringing home after the club or bar or where ever. Bitch might be a lil off her rocker. Apparently this guy was on valium and slept through the whole thing. smh

"When I woke I was covered in blood. Dominique was snoring. I just had to get out of there. I didn't even wake her to ask what she'd done. "I'm scarred for life" he told The Sun. "I wish I'd never met her"
He said: 'I went to her place for sex, not to be tattooed. I can't believe she did this to me and I hate her."

looks like club entry should come with a background check for some women. pewwnn...

    got em!

    From joystiq.com

"They say there are some things you just can't make up. The accompanying photos, received today from an anonymous tipster who works at one of Sony's distribution centers, are definitely some of them.

What you see are "PS2 consoles" returned to retailers -- such as Best Buy and Walmart -- then subsequently sent to Sony for credit. We're not sure what's more silly: that someone would try to pass off a wooden replica PS2 for return, or that someone would actually take the time to make a wooden PS2 with such detail. The question of "Who would accept these for return?" must also be raised."

Thats some crazy shit right there. reminds me of the scam (:x) my friends and I used to do, to get full retail vouchers from nike

"Its who thinks they know you"

Apparently the old saying "Its not what, its who you know" needs to be amended, because its more like "its who thinks they know you". In the previous post I said I'd talk about how the networking went last night. We get to the door unsure if our RSVP went through, so this guy J lies about whos list we are supposed to be on, then starts fumbling when the girl starts asking him extra shit. Luckily our RSVP was there and we got in. We get inside the place and start casing it for recognizable faces, and pretty much didn't see anything. We kinda slide in to the VIP area, and sat there like we belonged and it worked like a charm. People started talking to us, mistaking us for other people. We were in a reserved seating area for Universal/Motown and we used that to speak to different people ranging from Dj Enuff to executives from Paper Magazine. So after getting a few emails and biz card, we peeped Steve Rifkin (SRC CEO) and pretty much went in for the kill. J hit 'em with the "hey Steve was going on" bit. Talked to the guy like he knew him already and apparently that worked because he came out with his email. Then we ran in to Jay Brown ("Then I went and told Jay brown/Should of known that was gonna come back around"- kanye west "big brother") J hit him with the same number, even threw in a "you don't remember me?" confused the hell out of him. Jay had the only confused face, and i knew he wasn't tryna stick around because Jay-z was supposed to be on his way to the place. So i said "You remember we met you with Flo (sorry Flo i had to lol), from the American Gangster tour last year?" his mans cosigned and all of a sudden Jay Brown remembered us lol. The weird part is he gave us Lenny Santiago's (VP of A&R @ Island Def Jam)email instead of his. Oh well, i aint mad @ that...at all. We run into this girl who apparently is an artist in development at SRC, again J runs the line on her, this time adding that Steve told us to speak to her about submitting production. Shorty Stockton-Maloned him. "yeah go speak to meda about that". ouch. Just when it looked bleak tho, Meda showed up, and J hit her with the same shit lol. It worked tho and Meda gave us her email so we lucked out. We hung around after this for a bit to see if we can have anybody else remember us. We got a few more emails, stole the guest list, and bounced after that... then later on we hear jayz came...SMH, we shoulda stayed. next time hov...we'll get you next time. pewwnn...

Artist to look out for : Melanie Fiona

So Tuesday night my production partner J and I go to this listening party for a new artist on SRC/Title 9/Universal Motown records named Melanie Fiona. Now I'm not gonna front, I ain't know who the fuck this girl was prior to this. The main objective of the night was really to network (which we did, and was quite funny actually. I'm gonna dedicate the next post to that part of the night) because, there was a nice amount of press, and music industry people that were supposed to be there. Long story short, she killed it. To me at least. It was also mentioned that she opened for Kanye West for 10 dates during the European leg of his glow in the dark tour. Her album is supposed to be dropping this "spring" (I'm sure you know what quotations usually mean) and I really feel shes gonna blow up. Just remember who put you on. pewwnn...

Here's her first single "Give it to me"
